Condition
Both in generally good condition apart from one having a minor glaze abrasion to the edge of his left eye socket and the other with two small glaze abrasions, one on each side of his back.

A similar figure of a frog is illustrated by Margrit Bauer in Europäische Fayencen, p. 107, cat no. 168. Two examples were sold at Sotheby's London, May 25, 1982, lot 72 and again at Christie's London, October 7, 1985, lot 17. Another single example was sold at Christie's Geneva, November 9, 1987, lot 18.
