probably Schreizheim, modelled as a bird perched on a shell-edged oval platter.

Condition

The cover is in generally good condition apart from a short haircrack (approximately 1 inches long) running from the edge of its tail towards the side and some very minor abrasions to the rim edges twogether with two small flat rim chips, which are not apparent from the exterior. The tureen and fixed stand: There is an approximate 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch area broken off at the rim and restored back; the restoration is old and has tuned yellow. There is some very minor and occasional glaze abrasions to the rim of the tureen and the edges of the fixed stand.

Another similar chicken tureen, cover and fixed stand from the Collection of late Count and Countess Guy du Boisrouvray was sold at Sotheby's New York, October 28, 1989, lot 313.
