A group of seven portfolios containing 24 original intaglio and relief prints by various artists featured in introductory texts plus hundreds of facsimile reproductions, 1924-1929, each print signed or initialed, 22 inscribed 'A' or 'A/E', two inscribed 'A/G' (from 1924), from the deluxe edition of 105 (there is also a regular edition without the signed prints), on Arches wove paper, printed and published by Albert MorancĂ©, Paris, contained in the original paper-covered portfolios within contemporary cloth-covered boxes (24 prints)

The current lot is the first of five examples from 1925-1929 and the first of seven from 1924 aside from the numbered edition of 100.  The title pages note that this example, lettered 'A', was printed for the portfolio's publisher, Albert Morancé.

Condition

The prints are in good condition, the full sheets. Thirteen with a few scattered areas of discoloration in the sheet and two prints with one discolored sheet edge. Three sheets with unobtrusive surface soiling and time-stain at the extreme sheet edges. Additional condition notes: Figure, Henri Matisse: Text from the facing pages offprinted recto and verso. Bois (Portrait de Gaugin), Monfried: A crease in the top sheet edge at left and an inconspicuous area of skinning in the bottom margin at center. TĂȘte d'enfant, Laurencin: Intermittent whitened areas in the sheet.
