The complete book, comprising 18 offset lithographs, one is a double plate, 15 with hand-colouring, with recipes by Suzie Frankfurt, 1959, on laid paper, with original fuschia tissue overlays, bound (as issued) in fuchsia boards

Provenance

Presented by Andy Warhol to the Broadway actress Leueen MacGrath (the wife of George Kaufman) as a gift; then bestowed by MacGrath to the current owner. 

Condition

The full sheets, the colours fresh, in good condition apart from pale time-staining and a narrow band of discoloration along the extreme sheet edge, soft horizontal waves along the right sheet edges, four with soft creases and the following minor imperfections: F. & S. IV. A128: A fox mark at the upper left sheet edge. F. & S. IV. A130: Minor remains of adhesive at lower left sheet edge and a soft horizontal crease in the wave measuring only 2cm. F. & S. IV. A131: A few fox marks in the upper portion of the sheet. F. & S. IV. A132: The ink from the fuchsia tissue has bleed onto the papers at upper left and a pale fox mark in the lower left spine. F. & S. IV. A133: The black ink has attenuated slightly. F. & S. IV. A139: Four soft horizontal creases in the wave. F. & S. IV. A140: Four soft horizontal creases in the wave and two minuscule fox marks at lower sheet edge. F. & S. IV. A143: Two soft horizontal creases in the in wave. The portfolio with water-damage and associated creasing, the pink colour has faded and paper loss at the spine. The front and end papers discoloured and with foxing,
