Description

  • Harry Callahan
  • Chicago (Double Exposure)
  • gelatin silver print
signed in the margin and annotated in pencil on the reverse, framed, circa 1955, printed later (El Mochuelo, pl. 58)

Condition

This print, on semi-glossy, double-weight paper, is in generally very good to excellent condition. Along the right edge of the margin, the emulsion is peeling. Although this affects the entire length of the right edge, it does not affect the image in any way. There is a small crescent-shaped handling crease to the left of the signature that does not appear to break the emulsion and does not affect the image in any way. There are 2 very small, diagonal creases in the margin, one at the upper left corner and one at the lower right corner, both of which appear to break the emulsion. There is a slight raised area in the upper margin from the notations on the reverse. The paper is slightly warmer along the periphery on the reverse, and there are a few scattered, stray graphite marks. 'HC37166' and 'EM 58' are in pencil on the reverse.
