Condition

This early gum-bichromate or bromoil transfer print is in generally excellent condition. It is on smooth, substantial paper with a matte surface and neutral tonality. The margin edges are deckled along the lower and right edges, and there are long, linear impressions. The paper measures 12-7/8 by 14-1/4 inches, and the upper and left margins are trimmed somewhat irregularly. Upon close examination, there are several long linear creases in the upper margin, not affecting the image. On the reverse, 'CEP 6914' and 'WMC 326' are written in pencil in an unidentified hand.
