- Gelatin silver print
box-mounted, titled and annotated in pencil, and with the photographer's '3777 El Sereno, Altadena, California, Sycamore 7-8483' studio/copyright stamp and a Museum of Modern Art loan label on the reverse, 1955
Exhibited
New York, The Museum of Modern Art, Diogenes with a Camera IV, April - June 1956
Condition
This early print, on semi-glossy paper, is in generally excellent condition. In raking light, a few small scratches and pin-point-sized impressions are visible upon very close inspection in the upper portion of the image. The print is trimmed to the image. The tip of the upper right corner is bumped, and there is minimal chipping to the edges. The above-mentioned condition issues are barely perceptible as they are minor and blend into this highly detailed image.
The print is flush-mounted to board, and mounted again to a wooden box mount. The sides of the box mount are painted black. The reverse of the mount is lightly soiled and age-darkened. 'Top' and '2' are annotated in pencil on the reverse.
This photograph was loaned for exhibition in 1956 to The Museum of Modern Art. The typed loan number on the MoMA loan label on the reverse of the mount is '56.533.'
