Catalogue Note

Shark Riding is the key work from the series The Under Water Project that was carried out on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia in 1992. The concept highlights the parallels between the ocean environment and the dangers of the urban landscape. The composition of a man riding a seventeen-foot tiger shark was executed with a crew of thirty people and photographed on film. The image was done without digital manipulation or any other altered visuals.
