The catalogue illustration of colour and tone. The siena marble border to the top has some chips and there are areas of old repair. The top appears to have had some repairs which are only really visible from the underside with very minor cracks to the top. The gilded surface to the base is rubbed back through use to a wonderfully subtle, almost grey colour with highlighted areas to edges exposed to the white gesso beneath. The appearance is faded but rather charming. There are small chips and cracks to the base as to be expected. The end of one of the triform platform has some loss to the guilloche decoration. There are chips and scuffing to feet consistent with age and use and some losses to the rosettes above.
