Condition
The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. Good overall condition despite the inevitable minor scratches, dents and marks due to age and use. The gilding is slightly tarnished. Some chips to the gilding. Some arms have been restored. It remains a very nice and desirable model.

Le bronzier Ravrio livra en 1805 une paire d'appliques du même modèle pour la salle à manger du Petit Trianon ; elle fut ensuite envoyée la même année au château de Fontainebleau pour servir dans la salle à manger de l'Impératrice, avant d'être placée dans le salon du roi de Naples en 1807 (J.P. Samoyault, Pendules et bronzes d'ameublement entrés sous le Premier Empire, Paris, 1989, p. 129, n° 95).
