Condition
Overall the condition of the wood is good with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The figure is carved in sections, and original stable joints are visible at both shoulders. There are losses to two of the fingers on the proper right hand. There is stable splitting to the wood, consistent with the material, including minor splits to the head and larger splits to the chest and abdomen, some of the slightly open, as well as splits running down the legs and feet. There is an area with fill to the proper right thigh. There are a few remnants of polychromy, including in the grain of the wood around the legs. There are a few minor chips, notably to the edges of the drapery on Christ's right. There are a few losses to the thorns at the top of the crown. There are remnants of polychromy on the crown.
The later wood cross is in very good condition with visible stable joints.
