Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good with some wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age, including some dust in the crevices. There is rubbing to the gilding at the high points and there is some greening in the crevices of the perizonium. There are some traces of a reddish lacquer around the three nails. There are a few minor lacunae as a result of short pours to the surface including at the upper edge of the perizonium. There are some minor nicks and scratches including to the bridge of the nose and proper left cheek. The condition of the mount is good. There is a stable horizontal hairline split to the wood at the level of Christ's thighs consistent with material.
