Overall the condition of the casket is good with wear and some dirt to the surface consistent with age. The leather on the exterior has craquelure throughout with the exception of the top. Darkening to the lid and lower edges of the sides suggests it was exposed to moisture. The lid was made in sections and is slightly warped; its leather cover may have been reattached on the underside. On the inside the area around the leather lip may have been restored. There are some losses to the edges of the drawers. There is some restoration to the right side of the large lower drawer.
