Description
- Trunk with foliate motifs and llamas
- partially polychromed leather with iron mounts on a cedar core, lined with linen with floral motifs
- Peruvian, late 17th century
Condition
There are losses to the semi-circular elements, particularly at the back of the lid. There are three holes in the leather on the left side. The front corners were restitched. There is wear to the leather at the edges. There is an area of white pigment to the lid. The right hinge is slightly loose. The lining on the interior is probably later. A chain on the interior keeps the lid from falling backwards. There are four felt pads stuck to the leather underside.
