Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some rubbing to the lacquer patina at the high points, including the nose. The proper right arm is cast separately and some patching is slightly visible around the joint on the upper arm. There are a few minor fissures to the bronze, as the result of casting flaws, including to the insides of both knees. Two bronze inserts are visible at the back of the proper right thigh. There is some minor greening to the back and the back of the head. The bronze base is nailed into into the turned wood socle and is slightly loosely attached. The socle is in good condition, with minor dirt and wear, including some losses around the joint with the bronze.
