Overall the condition of the cross is good with wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age and handling. The cross is slightly warped. There are losses to the enamel on the lower arms, next to Christ's hips, and to and above the halo, and some further stable craquelure around these areas. There is wear to the gilding throughout. There are several scratches and assay marks to the reverse. There are three paper labels bearing numbers and remnant of a fourth on the reverse.
