Condition

The canvas has an old and firm relining. The paint surface is smooth and flat. The surface is clean and the pigments in the fruit retain their luminosity. The presence of an opaque varnish obscures any signs of retouching when viewed under ultraviolet light, although no retouchings can be seen with the naked eye. Overall the work is in excellent condition. The work is offered in a gilt molded French Empire style frame in good condition.
