Condition
The panel is cradled and composed of three vertical planks. The joins are secure and barely visible to the naked eye. The paint surface is secure and clean. Areas of scattered lighter retouchings are visible throughout the green of the background. Darker areas of retouching can be seen in the face of Henry. These retouchings are confirmed by inspection under ultraviolet light, which also reveals some retouching to the lower half of the right-hand join and retouchings to Henry's sleeves. An even varnish covers the panel.
The work is offered in a wood carved frame with gilt sight edge on three sides, with a few knocks.
