Condition

The canvas has a firm old relining. The varnish is only very slightly discoloured, the paint surface is stable and has a distinct craquelure. There is no major damage visible to the naked eye. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals a few minor scattered retouchings throughout and some more concentrated retouching in the tip of the angels wing, and some restored damage along the bottom right, edges, about 1 inch deep, but otherwise the painting is in good overall condition.
