Condition

The canvas has been recently and firmly relined. The paint surface is generally flat, although there remains some good quality impasto in the face. The paint surface is secure but dirty. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals small scattered retouchings throughout, except in the face which is free of retouching. The work is offered in a gilt molded frame with foliate carving in excellent condition.
