  • Oil on paper laid on light cardboard

Condition

Laid down on an old piece of cardboard. Some nicks at the top margin and a few creases and a tear to the right margin. Some small bubbles were the paper in not perfectly stuck to the cardboard. It appears to be left unfinished to the upper right section of the barge. The oil is fresh and generally in good condition. Sold mounted but not framed.

Catalogue Note

The style of this oil on paper is reminiscent of a group of about fifty small oil sketches, on canvas, now in the Victoria and Albert Museum.1
