Catalogue Note
The two drawings in this lot portray the homes of celebrated Parisian figures from the late 18th Century, including that of the French sculptor, Augustin Pajou. The charming inscription on the mount alludes to the friendship between Pajou and the architect Charles de Wailly, who was not only responsible for designing Pajou’s house but was also his neighbour.
