Condition
Canvas has a hard relining and the paint surface has been pressed as a result. The paint surface appears to have been quite recently cleaned and restored. Inspection under ultraviolet light shows a vertical repair 18 cm. long running down from the centre from the upper margin, scattered delicate repairs to the foliage and restrengthening of the facial features of the figures. This lot is offered in a walnut frame with a number of cracks but no knocks.
