Provenance
Believed to have been in the collection of the family of the present owners for at least 35 years.
Condition
The canvas has been relined.
The paint surface is slightly flattened, the browns in the background has sunk and lost much of their shading. There are three of four small repairs visible under raking light in the background.
Inspection under ultraviolet light shows very small scattered spot retouchings, three vertical small tears (the largest of which, upper centre, measures 5 cm.) and an uneven varnish.
This lot is offered in a gilt wood frame, aged, but otherwise in good condition.
