Description

  • The Crucifixion, with Christ in Benediction in the spandrel above
  • tempera, oil and gold ground on oak panel, with a pointed top and engaged frame

Condition

The thick panel and integral frame are stable and the paint surface is secure. There are some losses to the details of the integral frame and signs of old woodworm throughout. Inspection under UV light reveals fluorescing throughout much of the background. The figures themselves appear relatively untouched, but for some scattered strengthenings. There are no major damages visible to the naked eye. In fair overall condition.
