Condition
The canvas has a firm relining, resulting in a flattened paint surface. The paint surface is secure and stable. The whites have dirtied somewhat but should respond well to cleaning. A band of retouching is visible along the lower edge, measuring approximately 1 cm in height. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals an even varnish and scattered retoucing throughout the grey edges. Further retouching is revealed in the clouds and and the figures, though this is much less prominent and very localised.
Offered in a narrow gilt molded frame in good condition.
