Condition

The canvas has been relined, the paint surface is clean and stable, and the varnish is clear and even. The painting is in overall good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals two sensitively-executed campaigns of restoration: there are older retouchings to reduce the appearance of craquelure, particularly in the centre of the bouquet and to some of the outer foliage, and there are more recent, very minor, scattered spot retouchings in the two lower corners and on the upper right margin.
