Purchased by Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness (1798-1868) for St. Anne's, Clontarf, Dublin;
By descent to the present owner.

Condition

Both canvases have been relined, the paint surfaces of each picture are stable with an even and slightly discoloured varnish. There are no major damages to the naked eye, and only few scattered strengthenings and retouchings in the darker tones visible under ultra violet light. In very good overall condition.
