Condition
The panel is formed from one plank; it is uncradled, flat and stable. The paint surface is stable and the varnish is even and slightly discoloured. Some minor frame abrasion is visible around the perimeter of the work. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals an extensive campaign of strengthenings and retouchings throughout the work, particularly in the sky. There is also a patch of restoration in the lower left corner, just by the barrel. In overall fair condition.
