Condition

The canvas has a rather firm relining, the paint surface is stable and the varnish is even and slightly discoloured and dirty. There is some frame abrasion around the perimeters of the picture and a superficial surface scratch, measuring c. 8 cm., running vertically down from the canopied boat. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals some small patches of restoration on the very edges of the paint surface, as well as scattered strengthenings in the sky and in the top of the building, right. In overall good condition.
