Condition
The panel is made up of two vertically joined, uncradled planks; the panel and the paint surface are stable. The varnish is clear and even, and the gold behind the heads of the Virgin and Child is largely preserved. There is a very shallow surface scratch lower left, measuring approximately 6 cm. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals spot retouchings throughout the figures of the angels. There are small patches of restoration to the lower left of the Virgin's red cloak, above the heads of the angel's on the left, and in the chest and arm of the Christ child, measuring a maximum of 1.5-2 cm. Overall in very good condition.
