The copper support is flat and stable. The paint surface is stable and the varnish even and only slightly discoloured. Much of the restoration has now discoloured. In overall moderate condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a campaign of strengthenings and retouchings: some scattered retouchings throughout the sky and the birds, and other retouchings in the water, particularly in the foreground. The windmill, sides of the boats and shadows on the bank have all been repainted. Offered in a reproduction Dutch stained wood frame in good condition.
