Catalogue Note
As Alvin L. Clark noted in the catalogue of the 1998-2000 Horvitz Collection exhibition, Huret was a prolific printmaker (only the fourth member of the profession to enter the Académie), and most of his drawings are highly finished modelli, made in preparation for transfer to the copper plate.1
