  • 24.9cm., 9 3/4 in. diam.
painted with the image of Friedrich Franz IV, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, on horseback, framed by a gilt-edged blue moulded border, centred by the Mecklenburg coat of arms, script title in black to the reverse and date, iron red stencilled globe and KPM mark, sceptre mark in underglaze-blue, impressed marks,

Condition

In good condition, no damage noted. Catalogue Note

Frederick Francis IV (9 April 1882 – 17 November 1945) was the last Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Regent of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. He inherited the throne when he was fifteen years old in 1897 and was forced to renounce it on the 14th November 1918 following the German Empire's defeat in World War I.
