chased with foliage, flowers and eagles, the cartouches later engraved with the initials AF in gothic script below royal coronets, raffia-covered swing caryatid handle, hinged lid, the cast and chased stand on three supports, fixed burner (cover missing) engraved with the same initials and coronet, scratch weight '94 - 11'
Condition
Hinge partly broken, the finial which is lacking a rose bud appears to have been repaired, the raffia would benefit from being being replaced, otherwise overall good quality and condition.

The initials AF below a royal coronet are for either Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex (1773-1843), or Adolphus Frederick, Duke of Cambridge (1774-1850), respectively the 6th and 7th sons of George III and Queen Charlotte.
