Condition

The canvas is unlined. The details are very well-preserved with the texture of paint surface in tact. There are areas of restrengthening in the brown background, slightly discoloured. Inspection under ultraviolet light shows infilling of craquelure and some small areas of repainting in the figure. This lot is offered in a gilt frame, with the inner part shaped oval. Catalogue Note

Henrietta Maria, a granddaughter of Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg, married in 1716 Hereditary Prince Frederick Louis of Württemberg (1698-1731). Upon her death she was buried in the grounds of the Baroque Schloss Köpenick.
