Condition

There is dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age, with particular dirt in the crevices. There are several losses to the stone, including to the proper left hand; the top of the letter in the proper right hand; the four tips of the crown; the bottom of the cloak; the edge of the cloak at the proper right shoulder; and the lower edges of the base. There are chips and abrasions in several areas, including a chip to the nose. The surface probably received a wash which is flaking slightly, especially at the back. Sections of the wash remain on the right side of the base and on the inside of the cloak between the legs. There are drops of white pigment on the sculpture, including around the shoulders and on the base. There are two brown-coloured stains to the back of the cloak. Otherwise the condition of the statue is stable.
