- wool pile
- approximately 494cm by 279cm; 16ft. 2in., 9ft. 2in.
with a salmon coloured main field with overall repeat pattern of crescent shaped motif of crossed laurel sprigs, with an ivory border with floral swags and golden motifs, and corner strapwork, and further narrow banded salmon and yellow outer guards
Condition
Measurements: approximately 275cm. across the top, 279cm across the lower edge, 492cm. up the left side and 494cm up the right side; slightly irregular shape. Needs thick underlay.
The pile is generally even 8-10mm and down to the knot-bars in the lower left corner. There are some surface marks in areas. There are scattered small reweaves and some small splits (for example in the lower left corner). Repaired split in one corner. There is an area of old moth damage towards the centre of the main field which needs attention and another small irregular line of pile loss in the lower left corner. Original side cords and flat weave at both ends, tucked under. Would benefit from a clean.
