Condition

This miniature is in very good condition. The reverse of the frame has been detached, however this can easily be repaired.

Catalogue Note

Le modèle ici représenté est le fils ainé de Sir William Harbord, 1er baron de Guton Hall dans le Norfolk. Lord Suffield fut membre du parlement pour la province du Norwich de l'année 1756 à 1786. Il succéda à son père au titre de baron en 1770 et obtint le titre de baron Suffield en 1786. En 1760, il épousa Mary, fille de Sir Ralph Assheton, 3eme baron du nom. 


The sitter was the eldest son of Sir William Harbord, 1st Bt. of Gunton Hall, Norfolk. Lord Suffield was a member of parliament for Norwich between 1756 and 1786. He succeeded his father to the baronetcy in 1770 and was created Baron Suffield in 1786. In 1760 he married Mary, daughter of Sir Ralph Assheton, 3rd Bt.
