On the naked eye: The painting is in overall medium condition. The varnish is extremely dirty and black, certainly bitumen, and show open cracks on the darker areas (young lady dress, still life on the left lower corner, foliage). The panel is slightly curved and has a fibre preparation on the back, typical from the 1820’s period. Under UV light: We notice an old and uniform varnish. We cannot notice any restorations.
