Condition
As is often the case with drawings by Prud'hon, the paper has faded from blue to light brown in the central part that has been exposed to the light, but has retained its original light blue colour at the edges of the sheet, which have been covered by the mount front, which is stuck to the front of the sheet in the upper margin. The paper is also still blue on the reverse. Some foxing throughout. Sold in a giltwood frame.

Le Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille conserve un dessin de Prud'hon pour la même composition, Femme nue couchée et accompagnée de deux amours (Inv.W.1975) qui est une étude pour le tableau conservé au musée du Louvre, Le Soir (RF 2005-26), élément de décor du salon de la Richesse de l'hôtel de Lannoy.
