Catalogue Note
Another version of the drawing, also unsigned, is in the Statens Museum of Kunst, Copenhagen (H.-U. Beck, Jan van Goyen1596-1656, vol. III, Doornspijk 1987, pp.114-15, n°.813a). Beck, however, expresses some doubts as to wether the Copenhagen drawing in an autograph work by van Goyen, and it seems possible that the present drawing is the original from which the other is copied.
