  • marked on base MINOTT in rectangle (Kane mark B) and with scratch weight 16:10.
  • length 9 1/4 in.
  • 23.5 cm
rim engraved with border of scrolling acanthus and diaper and with a basket of fruit above spout, the side engraved with arms in a rococo cartouche.

The arms are those of Marston.  Nathaniel Hurd engraved a bookplate with these arms, see Hollis French, Jacob Hurd and his Sons Nathaniel and Benjamin, p. 120, where it is noted that a John Marston in 1752 kept a tavern named the Golden Ball, in Merchants' Row near the Dock.
