Catalogue Note

This rather charming picture is very skillfully made - the maker drawing one's attention to it by cutting the whole piece out with scissors.  This is evident in the cut-out inscription in which the maker cuts out a pair of scissors, a feather pen and a knife so that it would read: All cut out with scissors, no pen, no knife.
