Catalogue Note

Included with the treatise on comets are two sermons that Mather preached in Boston in 1680 and 1682, about the significance of recent comets (including Halley's Comet) for God's displeasure with the world. The sermons had previously been published separately, but this is the first edition of Mather's text on comets.
