On 24 October 1905, the San Carlo Grand Opera company presented Puccini's Madama Butterfly at Covent Garden, in presence of the composer, conducted by Mugnone, with Zenatello as Pinkerton, Giachetti as Cio-Cio-San and Sammarco as Sharpless.
