containing twenty informal shots of the composer, some with duplicate exposures,  showing him hunting on the Lago di Massaciuccoli, with his son Tonio on the beach at Viareggio,  at the House of the Vetii in Pompei, in a group with his wife Elvira at the Villa del Monsagrati, in dramatic poses as Scarpia, Nerone, Jorio and in a masquerade, and with Gaetano Luporini (maestro di cappella at Lucca), together with three photographs of autograph caricatures

35 prints in all, mainly c.8 x 10cm or 8 x 11cm, with Caselli's autograph captions, some on his printed mounts ("Alfredo Caselli--Lucca"), in an embossed leather album, Sicily, Torre del Lago, Lago di Massaciuccoli, Viareggio, Pompei, Chiatri and Lucca, 1890s

Catalogue Note

These informal photographs of Puccini are apparently unpublished.  Alfredo Caselli (1865-1921) was a patron of the arts in Lucca, and a life-long friend of the composer.
