Catalogue Note

The autograph manuscript of Mozart's Offertorium "Inter natos mulierum" is lost.  Despite the early Koechel number (K.72/74f), the work is now thought to date from the late 1770s, contemporary with major sacred works such as the "Credo" Mass" K.257 (1776), the "Coronation" Mass K.317 (1779) and the Symphony no.33, K.319 (1779).  The present score contains parts for horns in G, which are not in the primary source at Salzburg, but not the trombones and flugelhorns found in a Viennese manuscript.
