Catalogue Note
The first issue of Siegfried comprised four hundred copies, both engraved (as here) and lithographed. Dr Paul Höhn reports in his long inscription that this copy once belonged to Engelbert Humperdinck (attributing the pencil markings to his hand), and explains its later provenance. Höhn (1896-1970) was a celebrated early aviator.
