Catalogue Note
On 13 January 1855, whilst attending rehearsal for L'Étoile du Nord in Dresden, Meyerbeer recorded meeting the singer Katharina (or Ketty) con Coniar (1829-1897) and met her again in February and March. She was a protégée of the Dresden singing teacher and critic Carl Banck (1809-1889), who contributed to Schumann's Neue Zeitschrift für Musik.
